What’s Next for Rocket Glider?
Now that Rocket Glider has been published to the WP7 marketplace, I have to sit back and think…
What’s next for this game?
First things first, while the online highscores are great for those looking to compete for the highest scores out of all players, where does that leave the non competitive players who probably can’t or won’t sniff the top 10 list within the game? It is only logical then that the next update of the game should provide a local high score table which only holds high scores achieved by the player. This list would be independent from the online high scores so you can see what your personal best score was. Also, these local high scores will be stored within the phone itself, so there would be no need to transmit the data over to the database. Right when the game is over the high score should be saved. So even if you choose to not send the score online, it still will be saved onto your phone.
Another thing on the list is background music. I’m not sure how the users are playing, whether they play their own music or just play the game how it’s currently constructed with the sound effects. Now the question is: Should I add background music or should I keep it the way it is now?
Lastly, the sound effects. There should be an option to turn the sound completely off within the game. I believe every game should probably include this option. This game is no different. If not in the next update but in a future update the option to disable game sounds should be present.
